Is it in a specific location due to age? Carolyn at CMH. Your project looks very interesting, and we'll be happy to help. We have an extensive catalog of music, so, if you could tell me more about the repertoire you are looking for such as possible composers' names, pieces' titles, etc. Even just a little hint will help with the research. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you again! I am not in the least some weird religious fanatic, but I do have a love for uplifting songs that bring hope, peace, love, and laughter.
I also love many other genres and, in fact, host small group live music events in my home or outdoors, weather permitting, for surrounding friends and neighbors. I love so many various songs and music scores that we rarely -- if ever -- hear these days, that I decided to launch my own songbooks of music that is out of copyright, or public domain, or if I can obtain permission, I will do so.
I am a former English teacher and Public Speaking. I love words. I am writing lyrics to the melodies of the very old songs. So far, my completed works are quite old and it is a joy and challenge to write lyrics to "match" the syllables, to sound out, what 'fits'. I am having a blast, frankly. It has almost become a passion. I will have these songs compiled into a songbook, volume I, for starters. I know those who know me will want a copy of my songbook. It is not my intent to break any laws or set myself up for law suits.
I believe "due diligence" is key in using the music melodies exclusively. I do not use any lyrics other than my own. Every line is uplifting to God, encouraging, and faith building.
Frankly, I find that most churches lack fun and inspiring songs and choruses for their congregations and small gatherings. The trend is to post wordy, often difficult to read or understand with strong overtones of a biblical nature, and expect the congregations to "sing along".
Say what you will but that is NOT true praise and worship. Entertaining, yes. I feel it is more of a "show" than it is a time to honor God. Thank for reading my dissertation.
You asked me to tell you more. I have more than hinted as you alluded to. I have vented my concerns and explained my purpose in becoming a member of Virtual Sheet Music. If you like, provide me an email address and I can send you a list of songs that I am working on or have completed. On SibeliusMusic. But most of the scores by self-publishers or small publishers of contemporary composers are copyrighted editions, just like common printed sheet music bought from any music store. Transposing directly online before printing is ok, though, when that option is set by the publisher. However, with the growing support for Creative Commons I imagine there will be an increasing number of sheet music titles available in coming years which you will be able to arrange or transform with pre-approval from the composer.
Wow, looks great. Thanks for sharing these links and useful music teaching resources that most music educators out there can use today in their classrooms and studios. Using innovative music teaching software and applications can take our music teaching experience to the next level. Just a thought — some music of mine published by Faber Music and available at all good music shops turned up on the Sibelius site — some rude person decided to create a copy and make it free without asking the permission of my publishers or myself. So free music in this case was fell off the back of a truck free, and everyone printing it off and saving their dollars was doing so was participating in the theft.

It's designed to be a resource for teachers and students who do not have access to conventional brick and mortar music stores. The site was started by a music teacher in Alaska who didn't have access to a music store herself, and decided to offer the service to the rest of the world.
As you navigate the site, you will find piano music designed for three levels — beginner, year two, year three, and then some sheet music for extending beyond year three. You can also find music arranged by category, from Christmas to Valentine's Day, and more. All of the sheet music on this site is designed for beginners. Much of it has been arranged to be simpler. Additionally, there's a selection of vocal music, mostly classical, theater, and opera.
If you are a teacher, you may also want to check out their Music Resources page — it has scales and chords, piano exercises, paper keyboards, beginner note reading exercises, and other important teaching tools.

The selection of modern and popular music is quite limited. Check out. After all, it is free! All of their pieces are arranged for a beginner to intermediate player, but with a little practice, most students could learn any one of these tunes.
